The Saudi Arabia Cardiac Interventional Society (SACIS) was initially established in 2004 under the leadership of Dr Mustafa Yousef as a group (SACIG). As the number of interventional cardiologists, cardiac centers and procedures performed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia grew, the group expanded and was upgraded to a society in 2012. Today, the Society represents more than 100 practicing interventional cardiologists who perform a wide range of procedures including coronary, peripheral, renal, carotid and congenital/structural heart. SACIS remains under the umbrella of the Saudi Heart Association (SHA) and is currently in the process of reviewing the by-laws and signing a Memorandum of Understanding with SHA.
The primary goal of SACIS is to be the leading authority in interventional cardiovascular medicine in Saudi Arabia that provides competent personnel and disseminates up-to date services to cardiac patients. Our mission is to promote excellence in interventional cardiovascular medicine through education, research, counseling and the provision of quality cardiac services.
