Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Alhasa

General Information:

Located in the city of Al Hofuf, one of the four major cities in Al Hassa, Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Hassa is a specialized tertiary care center providing a wide-range of cardiac services for both the Adult and Pediatric population in the region as well as from other nearby GCC Countries.

Founded on November 2003, the Center was funded by the generosity of His Highness the late Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud with the support of the Ministry of Health, H.H. the Governor of Al Ahsa, and the General Director of the Health Affairs in the Eastern Province. Built by Military Work Services, a division of the Ministry of Defense and Aviation, it is part of the Self Operating Program of the Ministry of Health.

PSCCH initially opened its Out-patient Clinics and offered its non-invasive cardiac services on July 2007. It was fully operational by February 2008 which paved way for a considerable number of patients with advanced heart diseases to avail for the first time of the services of a sophisticated cardiac center. On its initial year of opening, the Center was able to conduct the first successful open heart surgery in Al Ahsa.

Since its establishment, Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Hassa:

Has catered to thousands of patients coming from different areas in the Eastern Region and has received referrals from neighbouring provinces and GCC countries for specialized cardiac interventions.
Performed numerous catheterizations and other specialized procedures to include Renal Denervation Therapy, Mitral annuloplasty, Left Atrial Appendage Closure and a lot more.
Certified as Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Training Center by the Saudi Heart Association with proficient Instructors.
Initiated successfully its Trancatheter Aortic Valve Implantation program which is considered the first to be performed in all MOH Cardiac facilities.
Implemented the first Policy Manager Software in the Kingdom based on International standards to ensure an effective and up-to-date policy and procedure system at the Center.
Utilizes an advanced Hospital Management Information System for easy access and management of all healthcare related information to effectively deliver quality care.
The first Cardiac Center and MOH Facility to implement the E-PULSE (Electronic Patient Ultimate Safe Environment (Datix System), an electronic reporting system to monitor adverse events with risk management capabilities.
To further improve its services, the Center is planning on having a modular Coronary Care Unit and Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit to provide the best environment conducive to fast healing and recovery for its critically-ill patients. A proposed Hybrid OR Suite is also currently in the works to create a venue for cardiac intervention and surgical management to be performed immediately.

Supported by its team of highly qualified and competent medical, nursing, paramedical, and various clinical and administrative staff, PSCCH constantly strive to lead in discovering innovative ways of providing accessible and the best quality care to the population it serves.
