At the outset, on behalf of Lamsa Establishment, and myself, allow me to extend to you my very warm welcome and sincere thanks for visiting this unique Facebook page . Yes unique because what we endeavor to do here is to unveil hidden treasure.Saudi Arabia, is not merely the land of oil, but it is also blessed with non-depletable resources, such as the traditional costumes. The way our women clothed and bedecked themselves is a fascinating aspect of Islamic and Arabic Art.As a student of history and folklore, I naturally have a keen and abiding interest in the traditional costumes of Saudi women. Hence, a strong desire to locate and amass various samples of Saudi dresses emerged.This quest led me to visit all the major cities and towns, and particulary, the small villages in our country. To my surprise and delight, I discovered a great wealth of material, representing varied samples of traditional women's costumes as well as Bedouin jewelry and artifacts.These collections, formed a source of inspiration for me to design and create an up-to-date Saudi wardrobe and to organize the traditional Saudi weddings so that they not only retain the original elements of the art, but also satisfy the esthetics requirements of the modern elegant Saudi women. In other words, we strive to show that the traditional costume of Saudi Arabia is not an anachronism, but a cherished piece of a modern wardrobe.In this website, I am deeply honored to introduce to you a sample of my work. It is, if I may say, an effort to demonstrate how the traditional Saudi culture withstood the passing of time almost intact, and how it harmoniously interwined with the dressing style of contemporary modern Saudi women.Soad Al-Dabbagh
