Childhood obesity has been on an alarming rise during the last decades. In Qatar, the numbers reached an all-time record. A survey conducted in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation and the regional office of the World Health Organization (WHO) found that about 50% of the school children in Qatar suffered from malnutrition. They were either obese, underweight or overweight.
